CRITERIA FOR APPLICATION1. Must be a member for over 1 year and in good standing. 2. Demonstrate a commitment to the goals and mission of The Daughters of Erin through their active service to the organization. 3. Have a 3.0 GPA or above. 4. Demonstrate service to their school and community. 5. Must be a full time student pursuing either a two or four year college degree. | APPLICATION MATERIALSApplicants must submit the following: 1. A Copy of your most recent high school or college transcript, sent to the Scholarship Committee directly from the school. 2. Two letters of recommendation. At least one letter must be from a teacher, clergy or employer. One letter may also be from someone in the Irish community. 3. A typed cover letter to the Scholarship committee. 4. Finalists will be notified by phone to schedule an interview with the selection committee.
SCHOLARSHIP CONDITIONS
Funds will be released in two equal installments directly to the college or university. The recipient is responsible for providing this information to the committee in a timely manner and in accordance with the college/university registration timelines.
The scholarship recipient must maintain a 3.0 GPA during the first semester/quarter to receive the second installment. The scholarship chair must receive a copy of the student's transcript for the first quarter prior to the release of the balance.
Recipients of this college scholarship are expected to report their experiences to the general membership at least once per term.
